short cuts

2001

Short Cuts is a multichannel electroacoustic composition that developed through empirical exploration. Its form grew from the gradual accumulation of a personal sonic archive—sounds gathered, recorded, and processed through my own practice. Musical relationships and structure emerged only in the act of listening, organized around texture, timbre, density, and spatial placement.

The composition is constructed from this archive. Fragments are layered, juxtaposed, and arranged in time. Their interaction generates an intuitive form, shaped by contrasts and continuities between elements.

Short Cuts functions as an electroacoustic patchwork, weaving personal sonic materials into a cohesive whole. Its meaning arises from the evolving relationships and layered interactions of sound in space.
